Most people have complete faith in their doctors. When we experience statin side effects, it's difficult to convince our doctors that there is evidence supporting our claims. They claim the "benefit far outweighs any discomfort". Drug Package Inserts are very technical (especially the edition for prescribing physicians), but do contain clear language about the adverse effects caused by statins. If your doctor ignores your complaints and continues to re-challenge you with different statin drugs, it's time to look for a new doctor. There are traditional doctors now that specialize in naturopathic medicine. Your Chiropractor is a good resource to locate a naturopathic doctor.
*Dr Paul Phillips of Scripps Mercy Hosp* and Dr Beatrice Golomb of UCSD have conducted and continue to research statin adverse effects.
